The story of Mirror Margarita begins in our kitchen in early 2019, ahead of opening our first Hacha Agaveria in Dalston, East London. 

We knew we wanted a stand-out signature serve on our menu, something entirely unique and special that would put our new bar on the map as a destination for lovers of Tequila and Mezcal. Having spent many years working with luxury Tequila and Mezcal, Deano wanted to reimagine the classic Margarita in a ground-breaking way. His experience and knowledge of the agave plant led him to use innovative techniques and ingredients and so Mirror Margarita was born. It quickly won multiple awards and accolades, gained a loyal fan base and took on a life of its own, so much so that we started bottling it for our Hacha guests to take home – just in time for the global pandemic and unforeseen rise of at home cocktail drinking.

Over the numerous lockdowns that followed throughout 2020 & early 2021 our hand deliveries of Mirror Margarita brought a little taste of Hacha to our house-bound customers and it truly saved our business. 

When the world reopened for business we knew we had something special in MM. Emma created an elegant and contemporary bottle and brand design emblematic of the unique liquid inside and in late 2021 Mirror Margarita became a brand of its own. 

It is still served as the number one cocktail at Hacha, but we’re proud to say you can now enjoy our creation across the length and breadth of the UK, bringing our multi-award-winning mixology to cocktail lovers everywhere.

Mirror Margarita was created by Deano Moncrieffe as the signature serve of award winning agave spirits bar Hacha in London. Deano has worked with luxury Tequila and Mezcal brands for over a decade and is widely respected as an expert in all things agave. His global travels as a Brand Ambassador for such brands as Don Julio and Casamigos have enabled him to taste margaritas from some of the worlds finest bars and inspired him to create one that would become a reimagined and modern version of this iconic cocktail. 

A welcoming yet chic neighbourhood hotspot that brings a slice of modern Mexico to the hustle and bustle of both Kingsland Road, Dalston and Brixton Village, Deano & Emma opened Hacha in May 2019 as a culmination of their joint love of and expertise in the drinks industry. Hacha is known for its no-frills approach to Mexican spirits and flavours, showcasing the best it has to offer through artfully crafted classic cocktails with a playful approach in a chic contemporary setting.  

Winner of UK Specialist Bar of the Year 2022 & 2023, featured Bar on the World’s 50 Best Discovery List and most recently named 78th Most Influential Bar in the World at the 2023 Top 500 Bars, Hacha is a celebration of Tequila & Mezcal, Londonʼs only Agaveria and home of the Mirror Margarita.
